A poem for my beloved Doris

My Dearest Doris,
When you are troubled by strange voices
When you are disturbed by scattered noises
When the white of your eyes turn blue
I will be there for you
Do not have any fear
For I am always near
Shed no more tears
Feel no more pain

Talk to God and call his immaculate name
Hold on to the pleasant memories
Let go of the troubled past
For each time that you fall
My undying love for you will conquer all
You are a child of God and for you HE does care
Have faith and HE will be always be there

Together, we both can ride this storm
Overcome, preserve and your sorrow will be gone
My love for you continues to grow
This I am sure, Doris, you already know
I will stand by you through thick and thin
This temporary setback will be over soon
Then on your face,
I will delighted to see that lovely grin

A poem for my beloved Doris

Give me your hand
Give me your heart
Let us set this beautiful relationship to a good start
Tonight I vow, from you, I will never part

Let me walk you by the sea
To breathe in the cool salty air
The breeze will caress your soft silky hair
While I look into your eyes and just stare

Let us gaze at the beauty of the sky
We will follow the path that the birds fly
There will be no worries, no woes
As we catch the sea waves that rush to the shores
A tree that has strong roots will not lose its branches

So too, our love has a solid foundation
And we pull no punches
We share happiness
We share sorrow
We will love each other as if there was no tomorrow
Our love is comparable to a beautiful melody
In you, I have found my destiny

Damia Camile: The Miracle Baby

Many thought that you would not survive

But your daddy and mummy kept their dreams alive

Even though they found it so hard to cope

Your parents, through prayers, did not give up hope

Damia, you are a special child that has brought light

Into your home, to everyone’s sheer delight

God has been watching over you for a long time

For He knows, you will grow up to be filial and kind

I figure you must be a pretty little girl

Who will no doubt, bring happiness

And glory into your parent’s humble world

Your elder sister, Nayli will now

Have a beautiful companion

Into the sunset, I can someday picture you both riding

And laughing on a majestic stallion

And as you and your family journey through life together

I hope your smile and love will unite all of you forever

Damia, remember to keep reaching for the stars

The sparkle in your eyes

I know in your hidden world,
I have found a special place

Together with the volunteers and staff of YMCA,

I will journey with you all the way

Every one of us is born with a gift in one way or the other

We cherish your friendship,
We treat you like a sister or a brother

For I do not see your disabilities

Rather, I only see your capabilities

Using poems, I will help you pen your thoughts

From your hearts, express your feelings of all sorts

Together, we will scale new heights

Removing the darkness from your lives

And replacing it with sunshine that is ever so bright

We will do our very best to help you all cope,

With renewed hope

So let’s reach for the stars, keeping our feet on the ground

For when your writings are discovered,

We’ll be homeward bound!

I will ensure that you’ll never be lost

Do not be afraid to let go

I care for you

This virtue I want you to know

Feel no more pain

Have no more fear

For the sky will soon be clear

Through my advocacy, I will help you cope

And bring forth renewed hope

I will be the beacon of light

That will make your days sunny and bright

I am troubled,

I am weary

My eyes are sad and teary

I feel so used,

I feel so abused

My kindness is unappreciated,

My heart is defeated

Why is it that some people are so insincere?

They deceive me

From such fair weathered friends,

I must flee

God has sent me to the sea

There He will comfort and love me

I see God in the sky

I know that God does not lie

And so to Him and my beloved wife, I will cry

I go to de-stress by the sea

To pray to God and ask Him to help me

The sea is so calm

I can relax and feel the sand on my palms

The sea brings happiness to me

It is awesome at night when the ships sail pass

For me to see

The waves blow through my hair

I need the sea,

For God made it for those in despair

Placed on your finger 29 years ago
This wedding ring still glows
My love for you, Doris, continues to flow
This, I am sure, my love, you already know

The colour gold reminds me of how pretty you are
Your inner beauty that is sparkling like an evening star
The shape of the ring
Reminds me of one thing
You have carved our destiny
Through happy times, and amid uncertainty

The ring bears my name
It remains the same
The words have not faded
And our love has been upgraded
It reminds me that I am also there for you, Doris
It is a documented promise

The ring stands out against your finger that is so tender
It reminds me of how fragile you are
This ring on your finger reminds me today that we have come this far
"Happy 29th Anniversary", Doris, my life long partner
If I have to start life all over again, I will still choose you,
And no other

Many pretenders,
Many impersonators
They all want to sing,
Like the king
They seek fame,
Elvis, they want to be associated with your name

The sideburns,
The pouting lips,
The shaking hips,
Elvis, you wooed them all
And fans had a ball

Your songs that are solid gold,
Millions of records that you sold
Elvis, you gave us the magic,
You gave us the music
"Are you lonesome tonight?", "It's now or never",
" Jailhouse rock" and countless hits that makes everyone tick
Elvis, you gave us the memories
That will last for centuries

This mad rat race has people scrambling for money
For without money, they believe their days will not be sunny
Yet the quest for money often sees families fighting it out in court
They want more and more of it
Greed dividing the family seed

Terrorists use money to murder and cause panic
Blood money is satanic
It is needed to rage wars
It is used to bring drugs to shores
Its misuse is the root of all evil!
The abusers of money are devils!

How many marriages have failed?
Uprooted by the money trail
How many relationships turn sour?
Life's beauty withered by giving money undue power

You do not have to own a big car
To achieve,
You can be a simple homemaker,
And you can also be a caregiver

To succeed, you do not need to own a string of degrees,
You do not need to possess the 5Cs
To achieve,
You can tend to the sick,
And help the old man struggling with his walking stick

To succeed, you do not need to be a people's champion,
You do not need to ride a stallion
To achieve,
Though you live in a hut,
You can be rich in heart
Reconcile an estranged couple,
Help someone in trouble

To succeed, you do not need to earn a fortune
Call the tune
To achieve,
You can bring a smile to an unhappy face,
Bring laughter to children filled with grace
Help an office colleague cope,
When he feels that there is no hope
